Community Guidelines

Welcome to the AACSB Exchange—our online community exclusive to AACSB members. Featuring relevant, member-generated content, the Exchange is your networking tool to connect with peers and experts within the business education around the world.

By joining and using this community, you agree that you have read and will follow these guidelines. This is a great medium with which to solicit the advice of your peers, benefit from their experience, and participate in an ongoing conversation. You agree that any shared files or content you contribute directly aligns with the topics and are of value to others in the community. Participation in the discussions should be appropriate, helpful, and relevant to members of the community.

   Respect One Another

The AACSB Exchange is built on professionalism, generosity, and thoughtful dialogue. Focus on ideas, not individuals. Every member is welcome to ask questions and participate, whether they’re new or experienced. Harassment, personal attacks, or any behavior that violates another member’s rights is not permitted.

   Keep It Inclusive and Appropriate

Content that is discriminatory, offensive, political, or religious in nature is not appropriate for this professional space. AACSB is committed to creating a respectful and inclusive community for members of all backgrounds, roles, and experiences.

   Avoid Self-Promotion

The Exchange is a place to engage, not advertise. You may share links to webinars, research, events, or articles, but only if they directly relate to the conversation or provide value to others. Stand-alone promotional posts or repeated sharing of the same content may be removed.

   Honor Intellectual Property

Share only content you have created or have permission to use. Always credit original authors, and do not post copyrighted materials without proper rights or attribution.

   Be Mindful When Discussing Products or Services

Because the Exchange is a visible, professional space, we encourage constructive and factual discussions. Avoid language that could be considered defamatory or legally sensitive.

  🧭 Posting Tips

  • To help others engage with your content, use a clear subject line and choose the most relevant community when you post.
  • If you want to say thank you or agree with someone, consider using the “Reply Privately” option instead of replying to the whole group. This keeps the thread focused and easier to follow. 
  • When posting in the AACSB Member Forum, consider limiting the number of topics to those most relevant to the subject of your discussion post.

The AACSB Exchange Community Guidelines 

Thank you for being a part of TheExchange.aacsb.edu. The AACSB Exchange is a community platform provided to AACSB members to create a vibrant online community where AACSB members can leverage the power of being part of the largest business education network by establishing valuable relationships and learning best practices. 

We welcome discussion and dialogue, believing that the goal of this social networking community is the sharing of knowledge and information. Individuals are encouraged to share best practices, updates, and discuss issues and trends on the AACSB Exchange. To ensure the best possible experience for all AACSB members, we have established these guidelines, which cover basic etiquette and govern participation within the AACSB Exchange. 

By joining TheExchange.aacsb.edu and using the global feed, discussion forums, and other in-platform features, you agree that you have read and will follow the rules and guidelines set for all peer groups. You also agree to reserve list discussions for topics best suited to the medium. This is a great resource with which to solicit the advice of your peers, benefit from their experience, and participate in an ongoing conversation. Questions about the AACSB Exchange should be directed to our Member Services department. 

Please take a moment to acquaint yourself with these important guidelines. In order to preserve a climate that encourages both civil and fruitful dialogue, the AACSB Exchange reserves the right to suspend or terminate membership on all lists for members who violate these guidelines. 

General Participation 

  • Do not post any material that contains software viruses or any other computer code, files or programs designed to interrupt, destroy or limit the functionality of any computer software or hardware or telecommunications equipment. 

  • Do not pretend to be someone else. 

  • Do not give out personal information about another individual. 

  • Do not challenge or attack others. The discussions on the lists are meant to stimulate conversation not to create contention.  We encourage the open expression of opinions and welcome diverse viewpoints. 

  • Do not share false or misleading information. 

  • Do not post any defamatory, abusive, profane, threatening, offensive, or illegal materials. Any content or activity that disrupts, interrupts, harms, or otherwise violates the integrity of another member is prohibited. 

  • Please note carefully all items listed in the disclaimer and legal rules below, particularly regarding the copyright ownership of information posted to the list. 

  • Remember that AACSB Exchange and other e-mail list participants have the right to reproduce postings to TheExchange.aacsb.edu. 

All content must add to the body of knowledge. AACSB reserves the right to reject any message for any reason.

Discussion Forum Etiquette 

  • Discussion within each community on TheExchange.aacsb.edu is professional. Common courtesy is expected. 

  • Treat all members of the community equally, irrespective of nationality, gender, racial or ethnic origin, religion or beliefs, disability, age, or sexual orientation. 

  • Discussions should not include any matter that might be considered harassing, libelous, or use phrases or words that may be construed as disparaging. 

  • Include a signature tag on all messages. Include your name, affiliation, location. 

  • State concisely and clearly the topic of your comments in the subject line. This allows members to respond more appropriately to your posting and makes it easier for members to search the archives by subject. 

  • Include only the relevant portions of the original message in your reply. Delete any header information, and put your response before the original posting. 

  • Only send a message to the entire list when it contains information that everyone can benefit from. 

  • Do not send administrative messages, such as remove me from the list, through the Discussion Forum. Instead, use the Web interface to change your settings or to remove yourself from a list. If you are changing e-mail addresses, you do not need to remove yourself from the list and rejoin under your new e-mail address. Simply change your settings. 

Advertising/Product Promotion 

All advertising with the intent of commercial solicitation is prohibited. This includes discussions about the following with the intent to financially benefit: job opportunities, (AACSB’s Career Connections is available for management education job postings Home | AACSB Career Connection); books; workshops; conferences; Web-based services; email or online polls and/or focus groups; and products/services. 

General discussions about professional resources are welcome within the AACSB Exchange Discussion Forums; however, AACSB International is not responsible for statements made by subscribers to any of the communities as to the legitimacy of any business or vendor. 

 
Enforcement 

AACSB does not pre-screen, verify, or edit the content posted by users in the AACSB Exchange. Please note that AACSB reserves the right to monitor any and all information transmitted or received through the AACSB Exchange. AACSB, at its sole discretion and without prior notice to you, may assess, censor, or prohibit the transmission or receipt of any information deemed inappropriate or violating the guidelines and terms of use. The enforcement of these rules rests solely at AACSB's discretion.
