Interesting topic. Business Schools have to handle the new economic realities as much as other segments need to. Since outsourcing seems to be the order of the day, perhaps we need to explore how "education outsourcing" may help. Just like we have medical tourism where low-cost but very effective world-class medical treatment is available in countries like India and Thailand, we may come across "education tourism" as a form of outsourcing in India. This actually would also serve to mainstream study abroad program in Business schools in the US; instead of going abroad for a short term, US based business schools may send students for one full term or for one third of the total credits to an outsourced partner school in a country like India. Cullen of an upcoming book, Rethinking the MBA: Business Education at a Crossroad. “At this point,” he said, “the forces for change are real, and the need for change is real, and the blueprints are already in process.”

Last week, upon hearing of the tragic earthquake and devastation that rocked the Haitian region, AACSB partnered with Net Impact to encourage its respective members from around the world to join the relief efforts, and help alleviate suffering from this continuing disaster.
As educators and corporate citizens, we have the unique opportunity on a daily basis to mold the minds, actions and benevolent spirit of the next generation of leaders. During a time of such crisis and as socially responsible concerns, it is now that we must encourage our communities to join in the universal relief efforts and answer the call with fundraising and volunteer efforts.
